Li'l Gem was made from a Li'l Honeypie with terrible hair. I even wondered if the hair she had was hers! I think she was rerooted with artificial hair and it didn't look so good. Anyway, I got her as custom bait esp for this contest.

She was rerooted. The mane is artificial hair which I got out of a hairclip, it's curly. The tail is part of a Applejack's tail, very smooth. This is not the dark yellow that most Applejacks have, it's a lighter shade and about the same as the artificial hair.

The body is painted with glitter sand paint. It's a nice shiny granular paint. She looks rocky : )

Her symbol is probably what held her from winning the contest. They are 2 glittery round things (LOL) that can be bought in any craft shop. Paillettes? I wanted to paint a symbol myself but you really can't make a nice symbol on the sand paint.

I redid the eyebrows with black marker.
